Clean Energy Fuels Australia (CEFA), through its fully owned subsidiary Clean Energy Distribution, has today taken the first delivery of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from a newly commissioned $310 million dollar LNG facility at Tamago, near Newcastle in NSW.
This will be the start of a long term partnership between CEFA and the plant operator (AGL Energy) and will not only provide a very competitive delivered fuel price but also additional supply security for CEFA’s LNG customers in the region.
CED stores the LNG and re-vaporises it back into natural gas at the customer’s premises, the pressure is regulated and monitored before being supplied into boilers on site.
The LNG produces 10-15 per cent less CO2 than LPG, and has significantly lower particulate emissions than coal or diesel. LNG represents a cost efficient fuel and environmentally friendly alternative for Australian industry.
